Photo Etched Lapel Pins

Photo Etched Lapel Pins look similair to the cloisonné and soft enamel lapel pins, but are more affordable. The photo etched process creates a wonderful color and a smooth shiny surface, without the price of a full cloisonné or soft enamel.

Photo etched lapel pins are made from a thinner 0.8mm thick metal plate that is suitable for the photo etching process. The pin's artwork negative is transferred onto this brass, iron or bronze metal plate in an acid-reaction process. Next, the color filling process is done by hand, with a syringe. After all of the colors are filled, the pins are fired in an oven and coated with a resin epoxy to preserve them.
